Jerry Seinfeld on Scientology

Well, Don't take it from me that Scientology is good, take it from a very funny comedian... Jerry Seinfeld. This is an interview that I got from parade.com that I you should see.

"On Studying Scientology"

“I last really studied, oh, it’s almost 30 years ago. But what I did do, I really liked, in terms of it’s very...it was interesting. Believe it or not...it’s extremely intellectual and clinical in its approach to problem-solving, which really appealed to me. I actually got to it from my auto mechanics teacher in high school, who was into it, and he was telling me about it. In my early years of stand-up, it was very helpful. I took a couple of courses. One of them was in communication, and I learned some things about communication that really got my act going.”

“It was just things about understanding the communications cycle... Even the volume at which I’m speaking now is the right volume for where you’re sitting. I’m almost performing, in a way.”

“You would just understand that there’s this kind of voice, and then there’s this kind of voice, and then there’s this kind of voice. I wasn’t a natural performer at all, so I learned. I was always a pretty good writer in the beginning, but I really had to learn how to perform. Just a little thing like that, understanding that really helped me on stage to understand how you have to invade the space of the audience a little bit. I learned that early on. It was a very helpful thing to learn. You have to invade them just a little bit. Not too much, because then it’s obnoxious. But you can’t be short of them either, or you won’t control them."

"They have a lot of very good technology. That’s what really appealed to me about it. It’s not faith-based. It’s all technology. And I’m obsessed with technology."

I thought that you guys out there would find this interesting.

Let me know what you think.

Oil prices soar!

WOW!

121.73 for a gosh dang barrel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is a gang a money for crude oil don't you think!?!?!?
In my town in Florida I am paying 3.50 for a gallon of gas but my father in Los Angeles, CA is paying around 3.89 and there are some place in California that cost over 4.00!!!
So folks, I guess getting that hybrid is starting to look good. I mean I am actually considering selling my Supercharged Range Rover now...
I was reading the below article and thought that I should share it.
"Oil futures surged to a new record over $120 a barrel Monday, raising concerns about higher prices for gasoline and goods and services throughout the economy. Retail gas prices fell more than a cent over the weekend, but oil's advance increased the likelihood that pump prices would resume their climb.

Supply threats that emerged overseas and a weaker dollar sent light, sweet crude for June delivery to a new trading record of $120.36 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange before futures retreated slightly to settle up $3.65 at a record $119.97.

Oil's sharp rise this year has driven gas prices to unprecedented levels, prompting consumers to reconsider summer vacation plans and limit daily excursions; they're also spending less at malls and shopping centers because they're paying more not just for fuel, but for all kinds of goods and services. Americans are also being pinched by tight credit conditions, a sluggish jobs market and a downturn in the housing market"
So... What I would like are some comments from all yall... I want to know what my readers believe we should do. I am honestly interested in what you think we should do or can do about it...

Florida Detox

Hello!

I know that I have mentioned before that there is a great medical detox facility in New Port Richey Florida called Novus Medical Detox and this is one of the best facilities that I know of.

So I am a counselor there - what of it... That means that I know firsthand why it would comprise such a good facility. Here are my reasons:

1. The difference between our facility is the level of care that goes into what we do, I mean that in a normal rehab or Detox you are considered all the same and all patients take the same meds at the same time and if you need something else stiff shit - Well, that is NOT how we operate, if a patient is nervous or anxious we will always do whatever we can to help him - That I promise you.

2. We use drugs in getting the patients off the drugs but the unique part is that we use quite a lot of holistic methods and ways to help the patients while they are here and we have major success with this. Many patients want to purchase the same natural products that we have available to them when they leave to ensure that when they are back at home they feel as good and as relaxed as they did at Novus.

3. The atmosphere is very relaxed and serene, there are no wake up times and you really get to conduct your day the way that you want to. I do sometimes tease people that I will wake them up at 7am with a bugle but i have yet to actually follow through. :)

4. As I am a counselor there I would have to say that we have good counsellor's :)... But in all honesty I am completely being honest when i say that. Look, I grew up in Los Angeles and have not been living with my parents since I was about 9 years of age. I did this on my own and it was in no way because my parents were nasty or in any way mean - I wanted to get street smarts so that I could relate to anyone that I talked to and understand where they were coming from. In being around the bums of LA I actually learned quite a lot, Since then I went to school and actually was able to work for some of the elite in Los Angeles so I have the taste of the full spectrum, No matter where you are coming from.

Having said that, My entire goal when I am working with someone at Novus would be to get them to look at the situations in their life that they have gotten into with the drugs or Alcohol and see what we could do to handle these. It is great and I will tell you honestly that when someone makes a life changing move and is very happy about and sheds a tear, THEN and only Then are my most true and genuinely happy moments on earths coil as that is what I live for and breathe for. And that is truly why I work at Novus.

Abuse Of Prescription Drugs A Problem Among Teens

The statistics on these drugs are hard to "swallow". One in five teens has abused prescription drugs.

The Denver metro area is slightly above the national average in such abuse, according to the Denver Human Services Office of Drug Strategy.

CBS4's Rick Sallinger reports the problem has become so common it's taken on a name in slang, "pharming" as in pharmaceuticals.

It's in music, like "The Vicodin Song" on YouTube by Terra Naomi, and it's in the schools.

CBS4 asked one student what drugs he has seen around his Denver high school.

"Albuterol, vicodin, valium, codeine, other sorts of pharmaceutical drugs," he replied.

Though he says he doesn't use them he and other kids rattle off the names like a veteran pharmacist.

"Things like allergy medicines, Allegra, things like that being sold, such things like Oxycontin."

That pain killer is one several students ingested at Castle View High School in Douglas County. And a few weeks later at a nearby middle school, different drugs were found on the students.

It's a world Alexis Mueller knew too well.

"Instead of taking them as a pill we would crush them up and snort them and then it gives you more high of a rush," she said.

Before being caught by her parents, Mueller used pain killers Oxycodone, Vicodin and Adderall (which is for attention deficit disorder).

"Where are kids getting these prescription drugs?" CBS 4 asked Mueller.

"They are getting them either from their parents or their friends who have parents who have them," she answered.

Public service messages warn it's like having a drug dealer in the house.

"When you talk to your kids about drugs start with the ones in your medicine cabinet," one TV announcement reads.

But that's not the only place these drugs can be found.

The Internet is loaded with sites offering these drugs for sale. No prescription? No problem.

Under the supervision of CBS4 Medical Editor, Dr. Dave Hnida, we found it disturbingly easy to order addictive drugs like Vicodin.

And you don't know what is really in the pills.

Dr. Brian Hemstreet is an associate professor with the University of Colorado at Denver School of Pharmacy.

"While it's technically illegal to obtain prescription drugs from other countries it is very very difficult to track and police that sort of activity," he said.

He adds, there is a misconception among teens that pharmaceutical drugs are safer than street drugs.

"Did you see any kids get sick?" CBS4 asked teen Alexis Mueller.

"Oh yeah there would be nights at parties where a big thing is mixing all kinds of drugs people would be in the bathroom vomiting I mean people passed out," she said.

These drugs are supposed to be prescribed to make people feel better. It doesn't work out that way - that I can guarantee.

WOW! I was just driving down the street and one of these flew by me 30 mph faster then I was going and I was very needless to say, very jealous.

I mean look at this thing... It amazing.

If anybody out there has a lot of money and wants to donate one to my charity... :) I will take it and use it well, I promise.

The base price of this monster is 110,000.00

Not to bad eh?

Anyhoo, I saw it and had to blog it as its such a sick car.

What do you guys like out there? i mean for its price range I think that its a pretty damn hot car, especially considering that there are not a lot of them around so anywhere you go people will strain there necks when you drive by.
